Post Baseline survey on Social and Economic Status of Echowk, Melamchi was conducted

Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) conducted a baseline survey at Sindupalchowk, Melamchi, Echowk VDC 06 from September 23th to 25th, 2016 in close cooperation with Community Self-Reliance Centre (CSRC). The preliminary research entitles Social and Economic Status (SES) of Sindupalchowk, Melamchi, Echowk VDC, 06 was carried out by using different techniques. Questionnaires, Focus group discussion and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) were used to understand status SES of villagers after the catastrophic earthquake that hit the area on 25th April and 12 May of 2015.
The research was conducted in foothill of Echowk, Melamchi with forty household owners. Likewise Focus Group Discussion (FDG) with same villagers (12 nos / gender balance) was performed to acquire in-depth information of village. Similarly, PRA tools were also used to obtain information about their life and conditions regarding to health, educational, water facilities they are receiving. It was also conducted to prepare seasonal agricultural calendar.
